The vintage sheet music is from the piano composition Le Papion (Butterfly) by French Canadian Composer Calixa Lavallee, composed in 1874 and first published in 1884. Calixa wasn't always a model student. In his youth, he struggled with conventional discipline—and preferred freedom and creativity over structure, he was a rebel in this way. His message is: "Let your life be a composition of sound and silence; every thought, every feeling, is a note in the symphony of your days."
